#CampusKicks: New Release of the Week!
The Nike Air Force 1’s were created in 1982 by designer Bruce Kilgore. The shoe was named after the Air Force One call sign used by air traffic control. The call sign is used to identify a plane that is carrying the President of the United States. The Air Force 1’s was also the first shoe in basketball to use the Nike Air technology for players. To sum it up, the shoe has a lot of significant attributes attached to it. At the end of the week, they are adding another piece of history to the design of the shoe for Black History Month. Each year, Nike releases a design in honor of Black History Month for several shoes. The standout of the week for me goes to the Nike Air Force 1 Hi. The shoes are black and white with a hint of gold to make the shoe pop. The strap has the words “Equality” labeled on them to honor the significance of Black History Month. The real eyecatcher is the marble design on the sole of the shoe. The BHM collection provides financial support to Nike’s Ever Higher Fund. A purchase of this shoe helps the organization to bring mentorship and sports to youth and their communities. You can get your hands on a pair for only $130.00 this Thursday (2/16/17.) The design is a limited edition so you have to buy them before they are gone. Let us know what you think in the comment section!
