Trump’s voting against the US Senate’s customs policy failed

Democrats in the US Congress failed to try to suspend the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump from ten percent on goods from all over the world. The vote on this in the US Senate was short, three Republicans voted with Democrats. For the necessary majority in the parliamentary chamber, the Vice President of JD Vance, which came back in favor of Trump, was in the end. Republicans have a narrow majority of the Senate.

Despite the narrow result, voting can be considered as a success of Trump, because a number of members of his Republican party expressed doubts about the president’s extremist policy. However, the vote was only symbolic in nature, because Trump would have caused the veto against such a decision. The decision had no chances in the House of Representatives as well.

At the beginning of April, the Republican announced a huge customs package stipulating both the mutual tariffs – temporarily exposed. Many other special definitions apply, such as the import of aluminum and steel, as well as cars. According to experts, punitive measures are likely to lead to high prices of consumers.
