Love Island USA’s Alannah Keyser Apologizes After Racist Posts Resurface Online

Former Love Island USA contestant Alannah Keyser has issued a public apology following the circulation of past social media content that sparked criticism during her appearance on the reality dating series. The controversy emerged after an old video resurfaced online, leading to widespread discussion among viewers and on social media platforms.

Alannah Keyser Addresses Resurfaced Video

On Saturday, Keyser posted a video on TikTok in which she responded to allegations surrounding her past online activity. The video came after she was removed from the Casa Amor segment of Love Island USA Season 8 and later exited the show.

In her statement, Keyser acknowledged a resurfaced clip from several years ago in which she was seen singing along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 hit song “The Box” and repeating lyrics containing a racial slur.

“I’m coming on here to address some things that have been circulating online,” Keyser said in the TikTok video. “I do want to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it, that was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”

Claims of Falsified Screenshots

Keyser also addressed screenshots that have been widely shared on social media, which allegedly show her using racist language in separate posts.

“I’d also like to address the screenshots that have been going around online, that have been falsified. What has been shared does not reflect the truth, and it’s never been in my character to discriminate against anybody’s skin color,” she said.

The reality television personality denied being racist and emphasized that she does not support discrimination.

“I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have. When I first found out that these things were going around online, it really broke my heart, and I couldn’t do anything about it. But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me, and it sucks that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am.”

After the video ended, Keyser added a written message stating, “It’s always been in my nature to spread positivity and help others, and I will continue to do so.”

Controversy Impacted Her Time on Love Island USA

The backlash began shortly after Keyser entered Casa Amor during Season 8 of Peacock’s popular dating competition series. Viewers quickly circulated the older video showing her lip-syncing to the song lyrics that included the N-word.

At the same time, an alleged screenshot claiming to show Keyser using a racial slur on social media gained traction online. While Keyser maintains that the screenshots are fake, the controversy generated significant attention among the show’s fan base.

Peacock’s Vetting Process

According to reports, Peacock was not aware of the social media content before casting Keyser because the material had not been publicly shared until after her appearance on the program. Sources indicated that while contestants undergo a vetting process before joining the show, the posts in question would not have been accessible during that review.

Following the controversy, Keyser’s role on the series appeared to be reduced. Viewers noted that her screen time became limited after her initial appearance, and she was largely absent from subsequent episodes as the season progressed.

Public Scrutiny Continues for Reality TV Contestants

The situation highlights the increasing scrutiny faced by reality television participants, whose past social media activity often comes under renewed examination after they gain public visibility. In recent years, contestants across several high-profile reality shows have faced criticism, investigations, or removal from programs following the resurfacing of controversial online content.

For Keyser, the apology marks her first direct response to the allegations. While debate continues online, she has stated that the resurfaced video does not reflect who she is today and reiterated her opposition to racism and discrimination in all forms.

Conclusion

Alannah Keyser’s apology comes after a difficult period marked by online backlash and questions about her past social media activity. As discussions surrounding accountability and digital footprints continue, the former Love Island USA contestant says the controversy has served as a learning experience and maintains that she does not support racism or discriminatory behavior.
