According to the European Parliament, Roberta Mitsola informed the European Union Parliament Committee on Wednesday about the decision of the Chinese authorities to resolve sanctions against the member, members of their families and the EP.
According to the announcement, the EP president said that the dissolution of Chinese sanctions against European Parliament members would be a step towards restoring the parliamentary dialogue of the European Union with China.
“As a president, my responsibility is to ensure that all members of the European Parliament can exercise them freely without restrictions,” he said.
Parliament committees in the European Union must be able to discuss European interests with their Chinese colleagues without being afraid of any consequences
Mitsola said.
The presidential meeting stated that the resolve of sanctions does not mean that the European Parliament ignores the “permanent challenges” of relations between the European Union and China. He added that Parliament in the European Union is still a clear defender of comprehensive human rights and basic values all over the world, while trying to cooperate with global partners with a principle and pure.
On March 22, 2021, China has been sanctions against 4 European Union organizations and 10 people, including five members of the European Parliament, and the European Parliament’s Sub -Committee on Human Rights. Because of the sanctions that prohibited the entry of the affected people to China, the European Parliament stopped all the official dialogues with the Asian country.
Chinese sanctions were considered in response to the European Union’s decision to take restful measures against four Chinese officials, citing serious human rights violations of the Muslim Uigur Landmaials.
The Chinese austerity measures were also valid for two members of the Human Rights Committee that was punished, Cateh Cseh, former MEP for momentum, and was also valid for György Hölvényi, MEP for the Christian Democratic People’s Party (KDNP).
