Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett and Ben Kingsley join the cast of The School for Good and Evil.
It was originally supposed to debut at Universal, but an adaptation of Soman Chainani’s 2013 novel The School for Good and Evil ended up on Netflix. Paul Feig, the director of several Melissa McCarthy films, directed the staff based on the script written by David Magee (I, Peter Pan), and they managed to earn a serious team work for the project.
In the main roles, we can see or hear stars such as narrator Cate Blanchett, Laurence Fishburne, who portrays director Michelle Yeoh, who brings Professor Emma Anemon’s character to life, or Charlize Theron, who portrays Lady Lisso.
The film tells the story of two friends, Sophie (Sofia Ann Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Willie), who are kidnapped and taken to the School of Good and Evil, where they train heroes and villains in parallel. Here, they are faced not only with the fact that many of the things they previously thought were true simple fairy tales, but also with the fact that their friendship may not be as strong as they thought.
Netflix has scheduled The School for Good and Evil premiere on October 19. And if you bring the expected numbers from the streaming platform, you don’t have to worry about the show, because in the meantime Suman Chinani has continued the story in five new volumes.
