The Galaxy S23 series, like its predecessors, will be equipped with the best protection available.
The collaboration between Gorilla Glass and Samsung is close, because as new technology becomes available that is more resistant to physical impacts, the South Korean manufacturer is one of the first to start using the type of glass.
This was the case last year with the S22 series, when the Victus+ debuted, and in previous years as well. It won’t be any different in 2023 either, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is already protecting the display panels on the Galaxy S23 models.
the in the current situationWhere the specifications were announced, it was highlighted that the Victus 2 retains the resistance of its predecessor to scratches, while it is more resistant to physical impacts than ever before, and the chance of possible damage caused by dropping it to the ground is also significantly reduced.
Thanks to this, new models can maintain their presentable appearance even without a cover. While the manufacturer hasn’t commented on whether the S23 series will have Victus 2 protection on the front and back, Gorilla Glass surrounded the S22 phones last year, so we can trust that protection strategy will stick with Samsung.
Based on Corning’s own testing, the Victus 2 easily survives drops of up to 1 meter when the phone is dropped onto a hard concrete surface, so we have reason to be confident that all models of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will withstand the test. We’ll know more about this soon.
