Wish | Does Netflix work on both Xbox and PS?

Netflix’s latest development has been thwarted by a job advertisement.

Last year, Netflix launched its Apple Arcade-style mobile gaming division, which, while not as popular as its big competitor, is growing nicely month after month.

So far, Netflix Gaming has focused more on casual mobile gamers, and compared to the bigger services — like Xbox Game Pass, revamped PS Plus, or GeForce Now — they haven’t really kicked the ball. However, this could change drastically soon, as one of Netflix’s newest releases From the job advertisement It turns out that they are already working hard on a cloud-based gaming service that can rival the biggest.

For the advertised position, they are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who specializes in delivering technologies. The future colleague should also know Unity and Unreal game engines (developer experience is an advantage) so that he can collaborate with developers as effectively as possible. However, this does not mean that from tomorrow we can stream games with the wildest graphics on Netflix, since these engines are also used for mobile games.

At the same time, based on this, it seems unlikely that Netflix will get into a fight with the biggest players, but there are also plenty of reasons to consider cloud-based player solutions.

One of them, for example, is to avoid downloading games, which subscribers currently have to do from the App and Play Store. In this way, you just have to open the Netflix application, with which you can jump to any game right away, without having to download. And this solution can also be beneficial for the company, because they can offer Netflix Gaming to devices that it does not currently have. These can be, for example, televisions or computers.

What Netflix will eventually use for cloud-based games will not be answered until later, when it launches. But we have to wait a little longer for that.

Fortunately, we won’t get bored until then:
