The men’s hockey tournament will take place at the Pyongyang Winter Olympics 2018 from February 14-25. Twelve teams, including defending champion Canada, will compete for the final victory.
The 12 teams were divided into three groups of four each. For any of the national teams, the battles will end after the group stage, as the tournament will continue with a direct elimination phase via the teams ranking. The order is as follows:
Better standing in the group
– More points in the group
Better goal difference
– Score more goals
Best position in the world rankings for 2017
After the group stage, the first four points will advance to the quarter-finals, while the remaining eight teams will receive a discount based on highlights of the first eight stage. Then, the teams meet according to the branch’s schedule, with one match per round deciding how to proceed.
* Russian athletes who start under the Olympic flag will be distinguished as “the Russian Team”.
