With an investment of 1 billion Hungarian forints, the new investment of the BioTechUSA group of companies in Szad was realized in a year and a half: the production and logistics center of the Hungarian-owned group of companies was expanded with a special automated warehouse.

The company's group production facilities and logistics center have been set up in Sadan and Dunakizen, with a total area of approximately 44,000 square meters of useful floor space, with a storage capacity of 24,000 pallets. The majority of its products are produced and packaged here: according to capacity data, 20 million strips, 20 thousand tons of powder and 1 billion capsules and tablets are produced annually.

The production and logistics center was expanded with a new automated warehouse in Saada. The entire investment – including, for example, the development of the company's management system, the purchase of material handling machines and the necessary equipment – was realized in a total of 1 billion forints, of which the state support amounted to 245.4 million forints. The two-storey automated warehouse of 450 square meters has 20 rows on each level, with a total of 9,600 boxes, which are loaded and unloaded by 4 cranes. The movement of boxes between the two levels is supported by 3 elevators, and the process is managed by employees via 6 control panels.

The warehouse, which is capable of processing approximately 60,000 orders and storing 300,000 products per month, operates on the “goods to people” principle, in contrast to the traditional “people to goods” principle, the biggest advantage of which is that the employee is not required to physically visit the warehouse. Thanks to the development – if all receiving points of the automated warehouse are fully operational – 8 orders can be picked up per minute.
