Totalcar - Magazine - Aceman was the first to wear the new Minik design

Concept Aceman is MINI’s new electric crossover, introducing the new design language of the brand’s electric vehicle future. According to Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of Design at BMW, a whole new era has begun in the Mini’s life, but the team has tried to preserve the historical motifs that made the Mini a Mini.

Designed in the spirit of “charismatic minimalism,” the Aceman blends the current hatchback’s silhouette with sharp edges and sporty wheel arches. The car measures 4.05 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width and 1.59 meters in height, which means that it is only four centimeters longer than the Cooper and four centimeters longer than the Countryman.

The solution of the electric car is that the radiator grille does not cool and is not a grill, instead of it a closed plastic panel and a digital panel are found, around which the figure is drawn by LED strip. Any graphic can be displayed on the digital part, and part of the Union Jack is visible in the concept, according to the Mini. Not only did the flag style deliver, it was also reflected in the taillights, the roof rack and the plastic inserts in the wheel arches.

The headlights broke with tradition, in their corner they are closer to the design of the Countryman headlight. The car’s youthful atmosphere is enhanced by the multicolor paint: the main color, Icy Sunglow Green, is complemented by a blown roof on the famous British race green, black plastic on the bottom, and blue elements.

At the same time, chrome was not used either on the exterior or interior of the car, to emphasize sustainability, and animal skins were also replaced with alternative materials, such as suede. Inside, the color palette and style go almost to the extreme, which contrasts with the simple dashboard: the continuous surface is only broken by the Minis’ familiar central infotainment panel, steering wheel and simple dashboard.

What is new is that the entire surface of the center display is now OLED, and the Mini has received the latest Android operating system. You don’t know if this is a car fever dream or a blanket dream switch screens A possible way, but a display device can, for example, display the infotainment image on the smooth surface of the dashboard.

The launch date and technical content for the Aceman have yet to be announced, and the car’s first live demo is scheduled for Gamescom next month in Cologne.
