The view of the Merci Actros 4163 LS SLT tractor, which is specially designed for the transportation of heavy loads, is not the last. Modernism has four axes, of which the first two axes can be directed. Thanks to this, the saddle can be maneuvered more easily in the case of oversized cargo. In order to make it easier for the driver to find his way, the car is equipped with a MirrorCam camera, that is, a digital rear-view mirror, and one of its unique features is that it shows the end of the lane even when cornering. Ordinary and conventional mirrors cannot do this.
Painted in light blue, the car was rolled out of the Wörth factory gates with a BigSpace cab, which has a completely flat floor and an exterior width of 2.5 metres. You can even stand inside it, as the interior height between the two seats is 199cm. If the driver feels comfortable, he can recline on a bed 75 cm wide and 2.2 meters long.
Underneath the cabin, Merci’s most powerful third-generation OM 471 turbo diesel engine is capable of delivering 3,000 Nm of torque and 625 PS (460 kW). This resource has to face tough challenges every day, as the vehicle is certified with a gross weight of 180 tons.
The Mercedes-Benz Actros 4163 was purchased by the Dutch company Luijendijk & van der Wal and is already being used to transport work machines and other tasks.
