This is the first image of a darkening black hole in the middle of the Milky Way

The event horizon binoculars History books again: sOha has never captured an image of a black hole in the center of the Milky Way.

It’s been just over three years since the photo was taken showing a black hole for the first time in human history. The scientifically exciting image was captured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) of a black hole at the center of the giant galaxy Messier 87, about 55 million light-years from Earth and weighing 6.5 billion times the Sun. The picture is of historical interest in many ways, one of these reasons is the decisive certainty that it gave to Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity, according to which the scientist predicted the existence of black holes.

However, the image just published does not depict this object, but rather a supermassive black hole and a shadow in the middle of the Milky Way, and the image is also attributed to the International Scientific Cooperation of the Event Horizon. It is located about 26,000 light years from Earth black object It is called Sagittarius A (star sign) and is close to the borders of the zodiac signs, Sagittarius and Scorpio. The image confirms decades of painstaking research, including the assumption that there is a black hole in the middle of our galaxy.

All-consuming black holes have been driving researchers’ imaginations for decades, and while a thing or two have already been discovered about night giants, scientifically speaking, scientists are still only groping in the dark. What we know for sure is that it is an object from which nothing, even light, can escape due to strong gravity.
