Remedy Entertainment has announced that the long-awaited sequel will be a true survival horror in which Alan Wake must face the monsters of darkness.
A new game from Remedy Entertainment will arrive in 2023 under the title Alan Wake 2, which will be a continuation of the first part published in 2010. The announcement was made at the Game Awards 2021, where a short preview of the game was also given.
Based on the trailer, Alan Wake 2 will be a true survival horror, in which the writer will once again have to face monsters and nightmares generated by the darkness. In the game, we not only return to the city of Bright Falls, but also explore other locations, such as New York. The use of light and shadow, as well as the power of the writer’s imagination, will play a major role in the gameplay.
Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake said Alan Wake 2 was his cherished dream more than a decade ago, and that this will be the studio’s first foray into the survival horror genre. The game will be part of the Remedy Connected Universe, to which other games, such as Control and the AWE expansion, will be connected.
Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. The PC version will be available on the Epic Games Store. The developers promise to regularly update fans on the state of the game.
