The Wall Street Journal published the results of the latest investigation by the Ukrainian authorities into Iranian drones deployed by Russia. The results of the investigation are shocking: more than 80 percent of the drone components come from American and Japanese companies, but an Israeli component was also found. In addition to Ukrainian intelligence, it was also examined by the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission, which confirmed the position of the Ukrainian authorities, according to which the components of the drones come mainly from Western countries.
The Wall Street Journal reached out to the US agencies responsible for enforcing the Iran embargo and to representatives of the companies the vetted parts came from, but all of those interviewed refused to answer or claimed not to know about the parts.
Several experts immediately came to the defense of Western companies and pointed out that parts needed for drones were not among the prohibited goods.
