Dog friendly place. It can be divisive among people if someone takes their loyal companion to a catering unit. The majority of the owners are happy about this, some are indifferent to the topic and there are also those who do not like it at all if there is a dog in their favorite restaurant or cafe.
But what really makes a place suitable for dogs? What does the caterer experience themselves and how has the dog breeding process changed? These questions were asked by Peter Vasco, who shared his experiences as a restaurant and cafe manager. – Whether a catering unit is suitable for dogs depends on many things, but primarily on the decision of the owner.
If you are pet friendly and feel this might be an extra point among the guests, you will also allow four legged owners. I knew a professional who hated fur animals, and by definition wouldn’t even allow animals into his restaurant. There are no other special regulations, but unwritten rules dictated by common sense must be followed.
It must be accepted that the culture of keeping dogs has changed drastically and that many people treat their dogs as members of the family. That is why they do not leave them alone at home, people organize their programs in such a way that the dog can participate in it too, or when they go on vacation, they choose suitable accommodations for dogs. It’s the same with going to a restaurant.
– Hospitality establishments usually allow dogs on the stands, but in cold weather, pets are allowed indoors in fewer places. By the way, the dog can come with us, but, of course, the owner must take responsibility for ensuring that the dog does not disturb other guests, remains calmly in one place and, if necessary, puts a muzzle on it.
A dog-friendly restaurant doesn’t become dog-friendly if you can enter the balcony, but because you can always enter the building with the owner, no matter the season. Fortunately one dog did not cause us any problems, the waiter may have growled, but that is also very rare.
– But we must never forget that the other side is also there, because it also happened that someone did not come to the restaurant because there was a dog inside. But fortunately, this is not typical either. It’s just like smoking. At that time it was very difficult to separate the smoking department and the non-smoking department. Unfortunately, no contractor can always meet everyone’s needs, said the specialist.
“Fifteen years ago, I was able to enter one restaurant in the capital with my little dog, and then it was still a miracle that the hosts let pets in,” Peter Vasco continued. – In the past five years or so, the situation has changed, much to the delight of dog owners. If you are someone who does not have a dog and does not like animals, then do not abandon the special catering unit, but find a table far from the guests who have dogs, so that the goats will be satisfied and the cabbage will be preserved.
