After his impressive performance in Portugal, Francesco Bagnaia wasn’t entirely happy in Argentina on Friday. He complained of a slight fever and was unhappy with his sixth place finish.
On the first practice day at Termas de Río Hondo, the differences in the overall results were very small. Francesco Bagnaia was only sixth, which even surprised him.
“I didn’t get to the point where I was doing really good laps. Then I also missed getting back on the track with the girls’ tyres.” ─ Bagnaya complained about self-criticism at SPEEDWEEK.com. “The afternoon was better, but even then we couldn’t do a lot of back-to-back laps.”
The Aprilias team remained on top, and Quartararo didn’t even finish in the top ten in Argentina
“In Portugal, everything worked right away, thanks to the previous tests. I certainly didn’t feel comfortable here with Ducati on Friday. Especially the front wheel behavior wasn’t very good, but the goal on the first day was actually just a top ten place.”
“Friday simply wasn’t a successful day. I was also bothered by the wind, which almost blew me off the track in places, and there were a lot of bumps. I was a bit overheated, but that shouldn’t be a problem for Saturday. I know we can improve. Aprilia impressed me, but I know we can be faster once I feel better about Desmosedic again.”
