According to information from the NASA Earth Observatory, the last major volcanic eruption of Kavachi was in 2014. During this, it was possible to determine that the top of the volcano is barely under the surface of the water by about 20 meters, while the deepest point is located on the sea floor, at a depth of about 1,200 meter.
In 2015, a team of researchers personally examined the private underwater world and discovered that an entire ecosystem had developed in the belly of the volcano. There are small fish, aquatic jellyfish, silky sharks, and even hammerhead sharks.
As a result of the findings, oceanographers have begun to conduct more comprehensive research into the adaptability of marine organisms. If sharks and other creatures are able to survive the extreme conditions of the volcano, it could mean that despite how much humanity has exploited our planet, nature will be able to find a way to heal.
