The one person project has now ballooned to two people.
Need For Speed’s latest installment, Unbound, arrived a few days ago, and it’s been pretty divisive. Some users like the new graphical effects and innovations, while others drive them crazy. It’s no secret that fans have been asking developers to revive the previous parts of the game for a long time.
May 2022 Then this satisfied a fan, so he announced that he was going to recreate the iconic Underground 2 under Unreal Engine 4. The project bears the somewhat sonorous name 2Unreal4Underground. The last video was uploaded to the official YouTube channel about half a year ago, so many people thought that the development had stopped due to an unexpected bug. They couldn’t be more wrong.
Under the Unreal Engine 5 game engine, the vehicles are already starting to roar!
The team, which had swelled to two in the meantime, tossed the previous version with noble simplicity, and decided to work with the latest UE engine. The previous version wasn’t bad either, but based on the new frameworks it was worth upgrading. You don’t have to worry about the increase in machine requirements either, judging by the internal tests, the game runs better under Unreal Engine 5 than under the fourth version.
Unfortunately, the possibility of EA attacking the project is still up in the air, but the legal department has not yet contacted Ivans. The release date is still unknown, in the meantime we have to take a look at the video uploaded a few days ago and linked above.
