Updates will arrive for Galaxy S24 phones until 2031.
On January 17, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S24 product line, the manufacturer's first smartphone series with a focus on artificial intelligence. We reported on the new specifications and functions offered by MI in a separate article, as well as on the cheaper prices than last year, but it is also important to know that the manufacturer also announced the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 phones. The company's Ultra mobile devices are among the first devices to receive seven years of software support.
In practical terms, this means that phones released with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 will also receive Android 21, which is expected to arrive in 2030, and security updates will continue to arrive until 2031.
Although this long-term support is no longer considered unique in the world of Android phones, as Google offers the same for some Pixel phones (and Apple is also doing well in this area with its iPhone and iOS models), but looking at the sector in general, it is still… It is unacceptable for a manufacturer to support their device for a long time. Hopefully this will encourage other competing manufacturers to postpone software support which currently lasts 3 years on average.
