Hayden Evans Milk Product says that dealing with supermarkets “is a permanent challenge” while Robert Powell, chicken and sheep producer, spoke about the presence of more positive experiences
Wasting farmers face the behavior of “harassment” of supermarkets, and the members have heard.
“The ongoing malicious treatment” included late payments, orders and resignation by retailers.
The actor urged the grocery store (GCA), who is responsible for organizing relations between retailers and suppliers, and is often said to be “David Vs Goliath”.
According to the UK government, the ruling was effective and its performance was reviewed regularly.
“Supermarkets in itself helped to get 97 % of the profits last year, as higher prices were transferred to customers during the inflation crisis, however they do not have a fair role for the producers,” Chadwick said.
He warned that food safety in the UK was “dangerous” by farmers who were stopped from work and increased dependence on imported foods, adding that GCA has improved the relationship between farmers and retailers, but they have to improve.
“By expanding the exemption, it provides additional resources and improves the powers of its implementation, the government can ensure that GCA is already working for farmers and producers and ensuring the fairness of the food supply chain,” he said.
The issue was a hot topic for farmers at the National Agricultural Union conference in London.
“It is always difficult to deal with supermarkets,” said Hydeen Evans, Carrmatin's dairy farmer.
“Some of the exercises we faced with supermarkets over the years, for example, when we successfully got milk prices, we found this within a few months that he was chosen in this supermarket and we went and we became cheaper, so these are permanent prices in the gate agriculture.”
He believes that the regulatory system needs a “root and branch overview.”
“Be the same rules”
Robert Powell, Powell, chicken and sheep breeders from Bouel Wales, said he has more positive experience in treating supermarkets.
“I think we are lucky to chicken, we have a good relationship with our producers,” he said.
But he added that he was afraid that they would not be able to fulfill the demand due to the difficult operational conditions of farmers in the UK and supermarkets to force them to buy chicken from abroad.
Mr. Powell said that the imported chicken “must be grown to the same criteria that we adhere to in this country.”
“It is not good to sell cheap cheap standards. Let's take the same rules.”
“Very organized”
According to the British Retail Union, Andrew Obi, Director of Food and Sustainability, Director of Food and Sustainability at the Trade Authority, “is organized and honored by an independent grocery store.”
He added that retailers “continue to do their best to support British farmers.”
“They are the largest customer of their products, distribute in the store, and use the national signs of pure origin to help customers make an easy decision,” he said.
According to Mr. Obi, retailers “support the new agricultural director to ensure property rights to farmers and the promotion of supply chains.”
Justin Maders, UK government minister, said that there is “strong evidence” that GCA was an effective organizer, founded in 2013.
He added that the reforms of retailers belonging to the symbol are “clear from the annual survey”, which is the average compliance from 75 % of 2014, when the code was offered, to 91 % in 2024.
