The Intel Core i-series processors are dead after 15 years

Intel itself has confirmed that the next generation of CPU will bring a big change.

Back in the fall of 2008, with its processors based on the Nehalem architecture, Intel started using the names Core i3 / Core i5 / Core i7, which denote the different performance levels of the processors in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. Thus, the Intel Core i series has been with us for nearly 15 years, and is deeply ingrained in the public consciousness as Interior classic Intel logoHe, by the way, retired already in 2006. Now, however, it’s time to retire Core i processors as well.

Firstly, on the website of the game Ashes of the Singularity, which is also popular as a benchmark, there was a mention of a non-existent CPU officially marked “Intel Core Ultra 5 1003H”, from which many people concluded that the fourteenth line would include the generation resources that This year the Core Ultra equivalents of existing Core i3 / i5 / i7 / i9 chips are already arriving.

We don’t know for sure if this is exactly how the scenario will play out even after days of rumors circulating, but we can already be sure things won’t stay the same, as the Blues’ communications director recently acknowledged the approach. Of the changes in a statement shared on Twitter. Bernard Ferdandes wrote that they are making changes to the brand name, details of which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

We are excited to see how Intel will eventually shift the naming, in addition to the 14th generation itself, as this will be the company’s first CPU family, which is based on the Intel 4 standard, previously referred to as the 7nm process, and the chip that combines Various manufacturing techniques – the design is also used. In general, the changes promise that the generational change can lead to a significant improvement in performance this time, which also justifies the reason for the retirement of the well-established name at the moment.
