The 26th Spring Wind Conference will be hosted by the University of Miskolc, which will take place between May 5 and May 7. The long-running Scientific Colloquium, organized by the National Association of Doctoral Students, is a regular meeting place for young researchers involved in university life. More than 400 of them attended this year.

The Spring Wind Conference maintains its scientific diversity, so speakers from many scientific fields come to each event. This year at Miskolc University, young researchers will present their research topics and findings in 22 disciplines, 48 ​​sub-sections and more than 50 posters.

The three-day event is a new channel for knowledge and technology transfer, and therefore its purpose is to present the results of new generations of scientific life to representatives of the competitive sector. In the interdisciplinary scientific event, in addition to the plenary sessions and round table discussions, there will also be breakout sessions. In addition to professional programs, community and cultural programs that await participants.

At the official opening ceremony of the 26th Spring Wind Conference held on the evening of May 5, in addition to the host University of Miskolc, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference, the Hungarian Accreditation Commission, and the National Council. The Doctoral Students Association welcomed the young researchers.

In her speech, the Rector of the University of Miskolc, Prof. Dr. Zita Horvath, highlighted: The series of conferences focused on young researchers, which Miskolc hosted for the second time in the past ten years, shows that the future and sustainable development of a state institution cannot be imagined by universities, they are bastions of science development without them .

Miklós Lengel, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, drew attention to the fact that Hungary is open to students from abroad, whose studies and research are supported by the Stipendium Hungaricum programme. He added: Doctoral schools in Hungarian universities are trying to contribute to the advancement of the best by promoting international academic life.

Vice-President of the Conference of Hungarian Mayors, Dr. Heydrich Palaz, highlighted cooperation between doctoral students, partnership and contribution to development as the most important aspects, referring to his personal example and doctoral studies in the United States.

Chair of the Hungarian Accreditation Commission, Prof. Dr. Valeria Sippy, spoke of the Spring Wind conference as a “military review for doctoral candidates,” whose organizers, the National Association of Doctoral Students, are allies in creating a culture of higher quality. education. As he said: Their goal is to promote flexibility and student-centeredness in domestic higher education, aligning it with the European academic space. Noting that he urged young researchers to participate creatively in shaping doctoral training.
