The finals were supposed to take place on May 29, 2021 at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul. Two English teams, Chelsea and Manchester City, have reached the finals, with Turkey on the UK’s “red list” – in terms of exit and outbound due to the coronavirus pandemic. English fans were not able to travel to take part in the confrontation.
The European Football Association (UEFA) indicated that there was talk of finding a new venue for the English Premier League football final in England, but due to local epidemiological rules, Portugal was the solution again. The home of FC Porto, Estádio do Dragaó, was chosen. Last year, the final was held in Portugal, when Bayern Munich beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 at the Benfica stadium in Lisbon.
According to the announcement, the number of spectators who will be admitted to the match is still in question. Manchester City and Chelsea printers are sure to receive 6000 tickets per club.
The #UCLfinal Between Manchester City and Chelsea will now take place at Estádio do Dragão in Porto.
6000 fans from each team will be able to attend.
