The Evil Within developers can venture into whole new waters with their latest game!

According to a leak, the new game from The Evil Within and Ghostwire’s Tokyo studio Tango Gameworks may be completely different than it used to be.

Tango Gameworks, the developer behind The Evil Within, may be working on a brand new JRPG project. The company was founded in 2010 by Shinji Mikami, known for survival horror games like Resident Evil.

According to leaker eXtas1s, Tango Gameworks may be working on a new Japanese role-playing game. This will be the first game for a brand new IP. If everything is true, it will be radically different from previous horror games. It appears that the studio is working on two more games in addition to this one that has yet to be named. If eXtas1s is to be believed, none of them would be The Evil Within 3. Since eXtas1s is known for some high-profile leaks, such as Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Overdose, it appears to be a very reliable source.

This past February, Tango Gameworks announced that the company’s CEO, Shinji Mikami, would be leaving the studio.

Mikami worked at Capcom for decades before founding Tango Gameworks, helping create franchises like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. Now that he’s gone, a studio can change a lot, and these upcoming games prove it.

As recently demonstrated by Hi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks is not only good at horror games.
