Bethesda Softworks has released a 7-minute video revealing more details about its upcoming space opera RPG, Starfield. This video is the first in the “Into the Starfield” documentary series, Endless Pursuit. It is expected that more short films like this will appear in the future to introduce players to the details of the project.

Endless Pursuit is mostly an introductory video, with Bethesda Director Todd Howard, Artistic Director Matt Carofano, and Studio Director Angela Browder talking about previous Bethesda titles and their ambitions. However, Carofano states that Starfield differs from its previous games in that the space opera will be more realistic and based on science. Skyrim is a fantasy epic, while Starfield is a more realistic game about exploration. During the video, a lot of new technical drawings are presented, which you can find at the bottom of the article.

Todd Howard said Starfield’s gameplay mechanics will be new, but that some elements of the old game will return, such as the well-known ability from Skyrim to grab, lift, and inspect objects. From the words of the specialist, it can be concluded that the creators wanted the player to get lost in Starfield and experience the world around him as real. Like enjoying the sunset, and experiencing the coming of the night.

Browder added that many developers have engineering and robotic knowledge that they can finally leverage on Starfield, adding to the game’s realism. In fact, everyone brought something with them that they could draw on Starfield’s work. For example, the spacesuit was built based on this experience, so perhaps a developer with a history of space exploration has joined the Starfield team.

For the rest of the video, the creators talk about the ambitious Starfield universe and what a visit to space could mean. A few weeks ago, new technical drawings of Starfield were revealed at the Skyrim celebration party, and in October we received a background video of the game’s history.

Starfield will release on November 11, 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be available from Game Pass.
