He will arrive in Budapest next spring Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) The convention is an important event for the base of the Republican Party in the United States.
This was announced on Wednesday by Miklos Szanto, director of a Fides-based organization called the Center for Fundamental Rights. According to him, American and Hungarian conservatives are united by respect for traditional values and patriotism, and they consider the family, the security of the nation and the protection of borders important. Although the ocean separates them, in both countries they feel “all-out attack” in their way of life.
Miklos Szanto said they hope to hold the conference at the end of March.
He noted that US Republican presidents have also spoken at the CPAC several times. However, in response to a question, he did not provide details of the list of participants for the Budapest event, indicating that the event is still being organized. In any case, their goal is to bring prominent politicians, journalists and flu agents from many countries to Hungary.
The director of the Center for Fundamental Rights described the CPAC as the largest and most influential review of the US right-wing military.
Miklos Szanto said the CPAC highlights that Hungary is the engine of a “conservative renaissance,” noting that they want to move to another level next year.
In his speech in English, Dan Schneider, executive director of the American Conservative Union (ACU), which organizes CPAC, confirmed that Asia, South America and Australia have already hosted the event. However, it was not held in Europe.
He described national sovereignty and freedom as the crucial issue.
He said Hungary was an excellent place to host the CPAC.
Dan Schneider said that the core of conservative ideology was to preserve the best old values of all, as he believed that liberals would destroy everything traditional with their “weird ideas”.
At the press conference, the agreement was signed as the basic document for organizing the event in Budapest.
Nothing in the MTI report revealed whether Hungarian public funds would be spent on the CPAC in Budapest.
