The two-time WTA world champion and four-time Grand Slam winner Hungarian and French pair easily beat American and Russian duo Alison Riske Amritraj and Anzelina Jabogeva in just 46 minutes. Babousek’s next challenger will be American duo Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend, who are ranked sixth.
Bondar, ranked 77 in the world rankings, successfully beat Italian Jasmine Paolini in the first round of singles qualifiers, but lost to top seed Ukrainian qualifier Anhelina Kalinina (39), in two sets, in a. hour-long match. At the same time, she is still interested in the duet: she is competing against Georgian Oksana Kalashnikova and will face Belarusian duo Ledziga Marozava and Arina Zapalenka in the Final Eight.
