How To Start Your Own Youtube Channel

As Technology advances, more and more people are watching less television and resulting to the internet (YouTube). According to the 2014 study by Pew Research Center, 87% of  Americans use the internet because anything you can possibly think of can be found on social media. Many young entrepreneurs nowadays are finding it hard to have a “boss” and are trying to find ways to make money without having to go to a job every day.

Can I let you in on a secret?

In the past few years, YouTube has been one of the top ways to receive a check simply based off views. I bet you’re thinking about pulling out that old dusty camera your uncle bought you years back?

I am here to lay out the simple blue print on how to start a YouTube channel and start making that shmoney.

You may think you need the newest camera and hi-tech equipment to get started, but you don’t. All you really need is your phone (Preferably an iPhone) and a laptop that allows video editing. By the way, you do not have to edit your videos, but you do want to give your audience something that catches their eye. So, let’s get started.

Step 1.

Ask yourself, why are people going to watch my channel? You need to figure out what you are going to be doing on your channel, such as daily vlogs, challenges, shopping hauls, or even a mixture of all. Do not be afraid to try new things on your channel, but remember the whole world has access to it so be careful what you post.

Step 2.

Being consistent goes with everything in your life, but it can really make or break your channel when applying it to Youtube. The content you upload for the world to see may be the very thing that keeps someone uplifted or motivated. You would not want to let them down and allow them time to lose interest in your channel and find someone else to watch. You want as many views, subscriptions, likes, comments as possible because that shows YouTube that your channel is active.

Step 3.

How else are people going to know when and what to watch? You can use the power of social media and post about your channel. Get your friends to help you promote and get the word out. The more people know about it, the better. Have the confidence to share your life with people. Try to understand that not everyone is going to like or agree with what you are uploading. WHO CARES! BE YOU!

Step 4.

As a beginner into the Youtube family, it can be intimidating to see other Youtubers with hundreds of likes and subscribers. Try getting into a positive mindset. Understand that those same people also had to start from the bottom and gain that following. This leads back to step 2 and 3. Understand that the checks do not come overnight, but the more you create and build the better it will become.
