Russia has sent a harsh message to NATO

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in Minsk on Tuesday that NATO is playing a dangerous and desperate game with its efforts to seek hegemony in all regions of the world, including Eurasia.

The head of Russian diplomacy spoke to reporters after the meeting of foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

As he said, the statements of NATO representatives only confirm “the global aspirations and claims of NATO – in essence – to determine the rules of the game for all regions.”

This also affects the European part of our continent and the eastern part of Eurasia – stressed Lavrov, referring in this context to “the provocations carried out by NATO with regard to China, the encouragement of the creation of military blocs such as AUKUS (the defense partnership established by Australia, Great Britain and the United States), as well as the presence of the strengthening of NATO’s infrastructure in this region.”

This is a dangerous game. Sooner or later, NATO will have to realize that all this is hopeless and leads to a dead end. he added. He stressed that NATO must recognize the reality, namely the multipolar world order, where there will be no “leaders” or “supreme judges”.

At the same time, he emphasized that, unlike NATO, the CSTO does not aspire to a leading role in Eurasia.
