OA chose Pushkin to be the tenth most beautiful cinema in the world time out magazine. According to an article published last week summarizing the 50 most beautiful cinemas in the world, the Kossuth Lajos Street cinema will take its visitors back to the golden age of the movie.
The article mentions that Pushkin, originally founded as the Forum, and which opened in 1926, lists cinemas bearing the name of classic films (Amarcord, Mephisto, Carousel, Annie Hall, and Metropolis), and writes that the interior of the cinema reminds me of the Dragon Room In Smaug, who keeps the treasure in Hobbit’s novel (and of course in the movie) due to the many golden motifs.
The article also revealed that in 1929 the first sound film was shown in Pushkin in Hungary. According to Time Out, the most beautiful cinema in the world is Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam, which is well-received by list collectors mostly because of its Art Deco / Art Nouveau interior decoration, and because you can get the famous $. 5 Milkshakes in the movie buffet from the Tarpaulin novel. The top ten also included Le Grand Rex in Paris, Cinerama Dome in Los Angeles and Cineteca in Madrid. (Telex.hu)
