Finji will publish The Glory Society adventure game.
Not much is known about this game, but we do know about the developers. The publisher’s press release describes The Glory Society as a “worker-owned co-operative”. Some developers have previously worked on Night in the Woods, Stereophyta, and 2016’s DOOM, but of course that alone isn’t enough to automatically make a game a success. Experience helps, but it takes more than that to make a product work. Their game, Revenant Hill, is a narrative adventure game with farming elements where you try to build an egalitarian society.
Revenant Hill is set in 1919. After the barn he lived in burns down, Twigs the cat hides in a wet log near an abandoned cemetery. When the owl who lives on the hill next door starts asking for rent, the Twigs have to find a way to make a living and things get more complicated from there, but times are tough, making ends meet is even harder, and the world just doesn’t. t stop at the edge of the cemetery. Something big and dark is at work in cities, factories, forests and mountains. At some point, someone has to fight back. And they cannot do it alone.
So you have to become a farmer, and in the meantime you can follow the passage of the seasons. A community must also be created, but this means that we will also have enemies. Throw ambitious parties for witches and demons as we get caught up in a world in the throes of violent change and so much more that we don’t even dare imagine what Finji would have been up to here.
Revenant Hill’s style looks really old (Frakk comes to mind…), but that may not be a detriment to it, but we still don’t know when we can expect The Glory Society game, since its release date is unknown. However, we know the target platforms: the adventure game is designed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam). Maybe it will be released in 2024, but who knows, it might be this year.
