Közös Ügyün az Allatvédelm Alapítvány is launching a campaign to support civilian animal protectors, and initiative participants can win up to one ton in food donations for the organization they support – the foundation told MTI on Monday.
Our Common Cause, in collaboration with Animal Protection Foundation Peter Ovady, the government commissioner responsible for the development and implementation of the Animal Protection Action Plan, announced for the first time between April 3 and May 22 its campaign aimed at promoting Hungarian civilian animals. Conservation organizations, which is also an invitation to taxpayers of the Consolidated Tax Fund, will donate 1 percent of the personal income tax paid to a registered NGO engaged in animal protection activities – the announcement reads.
As written, as part of the campaign that is being run with the professional partnership of the Center for Animal Protection Law, Analysis and Methodology of the University of Veterinary Medicine, an Internet prize game has also started, where everyone can defend the animal protection organization dear to them, and on the other hand, they can donate up to 1,000 kilograms of food for the organization they support.
The player’s task is to create a maximum of 8-second video clip by the end of April, in which the applicant is seen with a live animal and says: “I also support animal protectors!”. Then, the video must be uploaded to the applicant’s Facebook, Instagram or TikTok page with the hashtag #kozosugyunkazallatvedelem, noting that if the video is chosen as one of the best, the Civil Animal Protection Organization will receive the award.

The jury assembled by the Foundation selects the most interesting and creative videos. The organization nominated by the winner will receive a food donation of 1 ton (1,000 kg), second place 500 kg, third place 300 kg, but the video with the most positive feedback will also be awarded 200 kg of food – they wrote, stressing that during Making the video you should pay attention to the welfare of the animal in it.
In the announcement, it was recalled that Hungary is at the forefront of Europe in terms of the percentage of households keeping dogs and cats, that the population keeps more and more exotic animals, and that interest in farm animals and the welfare of wild animals is also growing.
