Microsoft warns millions of Windows users

Microsoft issued a warning after new updates for different versions of Windows revealed two serious bugs – Writes for Forbes.

The company has confirmed that users of all currently supported versions, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2009-2022, may experience a Microsoft Installer (MSI) crash after installing the package code KB5007215.) This component is responsible for installing, updating and repairing various applications within the operating system. Because of these errors, some programs may become unusable after installation after the system tries to update or repair them, including Kaspersky Antivirus.

Therefore, waiting for the update is advised for those who do not keep their system up to date. And for those facing this issue, we recommend using Windows Update to uninstall Windows Update as a quick fix. The easiest way to do this is to type Update History into the system browser.

Microsoft announced on November 22 that the patch is already complete, but it’s not yet available to users, and there’s a good chance it will arrive sometime in the near future.
