In the future, a negative test will not be enough to visit public places, and vaccinators will not be allowed to go to cinemas, hotels or restaurants.

Is there a return to “normality” due to vaccinations? How threatening are the various mutations in the virus? Should we fear another wave of epidemics? In our series, you will find everything you need to know about the coronavirus pandemic.

After two weeks of heated public debate, the French parliament passed a bill on a certificate of vaccination to replace the certificate of protection against coronavirus on Sunday evening.

The vaccination certificate is valid for three doses, As in Hungary from February 15 – It replaces the virus protection document (vaccination certificate or negative test not more than 24 hours old) valid since August. In the future, a negative test will not be enough to enter public places other than health care facilities, but the vaccination certificate must be presented in public places, sports facilities, cultural institutions, cinemas, theaters, concert halls, restaurants, hotels, trains and coaches on domestic flights.

The law mandates the use of a certificate of vaccination from the age of 16, as parental consent is not required to take the vaccination from the age of 16. For those between the ages of 12 and 15, it is still sufficient to provide proof of protection.

The text, amended several times, was adopted by the National Assembly by 215 votes to 58 against, with 7 abstentions.

The latest data from the Ministry of Health indicates the epidemic has stabilized. The number of new cases detected daily is still very high, but it is no longer rising above last week’s level when more than 360 thousand new cases were reported in 24 hours.

On Sunday, 278,000 people were registered, up from 296,000 a week ago, most of whom detected the omicron variant, while the number of people in the intensive care unit has declined in recent days. Currently, 3,850 critically ill patients are cared for in hospitals, the vast majority of whom still have deltaemia.

In an interview with the weekly L’Express, the government’s Commissioner for Vaccination Strategy was optimistic about controlling the epidemic due to the high vaccination rate among the population. Alan Fisher argues that despite the large number of cases, the wave caused by the Omicron variable is already “well controlled by France”, and a “quiet period” may follow from the beginning of March after its withdrawal.

Of the vaccines, 94 percent, eighty percent of the population (54 million) received the first dose, 77.5 percent received the second dose, and 45 percent received the third dose.
