Thanks to the developer, we now get a detailed insight into the gameplay of Aliens: Dark Descent! It turns out if it was a really good idea to merge the popular universe with the real-time strategy genre.
As promised by Tindalos Interactive, Aliens: Dark Descent contains a full tactical campaign, which will be full of tense moments, but at the same time there will be room for deep strategizing. If we see that the situation is too volatile – no problem – we can stop at any time and conveniently issue orders to our Marines.
Assembling your gear is also key: you can keep full lanes under control with a flamethrower, and you can cover corners with a detachable bullet launcher. Each restart is unique as the xenomorphs adapt to the player’s behaviour. We also have to pay attention to our team’s health and stress level, because if someone from our team dies, it’s all forever.
Between the two missions, we can return to our spaceship, the Otago, where we can not only regenerate between two operations, but also upgrade our equipment and recruit new members.
Aliens: Dark Descent is coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on June 20th.
