After five seasons on Sony TV, Kapil Sharma and his crew will be bringing their comedy to the streaming platform.
After Colors and Sony TV, Kapil Sharma has found a new home. The Indian comedian and host has collaborated with Netflix for his hit comedy film.
After a hiatus from television, Sharma and the entire crew…The Kapil Sharma ShowIt will be shown in full exclusively on the streaming platform.
In a humorous video announcing the move, Sharma revealed his “new address”. In the promo, Sharma is seen moving to a new house. However, the refrigerator and other furniture are old. They also include the old crew – Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiko Sharda and Rajeev Thakur. The promo ends with the message “Ghar Badla Hai, Parivaar Nahi (The house has changed, but not the family)!”
“Kapil Sharma is a huge artist whose legacy and comedy has made him a household name across India for many years. We are extremely proud to strengthen our partnership with him and bring on board the King of Indian Comedy, along with his colleagues,” Monica Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, said in a press release. Loved and known, to Netflix for a brand new comedy show, Kapil will continue to make India laugh and entertain millions of his viewers globally now, from his new title — Netflix.
Since 2016, The Kapil Sharma Show has been running on Sony TV for five seasons. The final season ended in July 2023.
Recently, Sony TV took its popular reality show MasterChef off the air and made it exclusively on SonyLIV. This is the network’s second reality show to become a digital exclusive. Last year, Sharma’s exclusive show ‘I’m Not Over Yet’ was also streamed on Netflix.
