US President Joe Biden is laying out a comprehensive plan to address the Russia-Ukraine crisis with the aim of making it difficult for Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, to take action against Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters, after the president’s speech at the White House, he said, “I’m laying out a set of more comprehensive and important initiatives that I think will make it very difficult for Putin to do what people are afraid to do.” He added that the US government is in constant contact with Ukraine and its European allies on the situation.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Friday that Putin and Biden were preparing to negotiate in a video conference. According to the consensus, this could happen as early as next week.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, speaking in the Kiev parliament on Friday, warned that Russia has massed more than 94,000 troops near its common border with Ukraine and could launch an all-out offensive in late January.
On the other hand, Moscow accuses Ukraine and the United States of “destabilizing behavior” and suggests that Kiev may make preparations for an attack in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities strongly reject this.
