One of the most decisive hockey players in recent years feels that the time has come to abolish the national team.
István Sofron could have returned to the AV19 hockey team of Hydro Fehérvár, but he received an answer that the team is ready, so he is looking for other options. The national team striker has already played in the team several times, most recently in the 2018/19 season promoting Fehérvár
The coach and captain of the national team, Kevin Constantine, who had recently left, wanted to return to his native club, but this plan fell through with the departure of the Canadian specialist.
István Sofron could have returned to Feyhervar, but he didn’t have to because the team was already ready.
However, the national team striker would like to play in the Austrian Bundesliga or in a league of similar quality. If this doesn’t work out, Sport Club Csíkszereda welcomes you back with open arms. He said that if he stayed in the Erste Liga, only Csíkszereda could be considered.
Regarding the national team, he said that they have a good group behind us and the match went well for me too, and he hasn’t decided yet to continue. He still seriously believes that maybe it’s time to abolish the national team, because a generational change is coming and many people will stop playing hockey next season.
The next meeting is in November, and until then he is definitely considering continuing, because being in the Hungarian national team is always a great experience and fills him with pride. At the same time, he wants to spend more time with his family, and this aspect is very important to him.
