The Annual Ordinary General Assembly of TV2 Média Csoport Zrt approved the company's financial report for the year 2023, audited by an auditor. The media company's after-tax profit in 2023 amounted to HUF 2 billion, with sales revenue of HUF 53 billion. The former is more than 60 percent higher than in 2022 (1.2 billion HUF), and the increase in sales revenue exceeds 10 percent compared to the previous year.
Revenues from distribution and digital contracts continue to play an important role in the development of the after-tax result, while on the cost side, the TV2 Group has paid particular and continuous attention to rationalization in recent years.
The media company had a successful year not only financially, but also in terms of viewership: in the period between September and December, which is very important for advertisers, TV2 dominated the list of highest viewership with a significant advantage in all three priority age groups. The company announced collections (A18-59, A18-49, A4+), throughout the day and during peak times. In addition to TV2, the TV2 Group has also achieved great success, such that in 2023, in both full day and prime time, it took first place in the channel families competition (A18-59, A18-49, A4+).
“2023 was a record year for TV2 Media Group in all respects: in terms of viewership, revenue and profits. Our team delivered an outstanding performance. We created, distributed and achieved the most attractive TV content in Hungary,” said Pavel Stanchev, CEO of TV2 Group. Monetize it in the best possible way.”
Big competitor RTL also had great success the previous year.
