We’ve found out who the nominees for this year’s BAFTA video players are – The Last of Us Part Two set records again.
IGN in the US has shared a respectable list of this year’s BAFTA Video Player award winners. We already learned one thing from the British Film Academy Award nomination: They really liked The Last of Us Part Two, for which they were nominated for thirteen awards. However, Naughty Dog was currently breaking a record, with most of the nominations (eleven) previously submitted by Control and Death Stranding at BAFTA.
What’s particularly interesting is that Naughty Dog’s Action-Adventure has also been nominated for five awards usually given to actors: Laura Bailey (Abby) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) also nominated for Best Actor, Troy Baker (Joel, Jeffrey Pierce, Tommy) and Shannon Woodward (Dina) as the best supporting character. Since the characters also fight in this way, only two people can get the desired statue, which of course takes you back a bit of the massive success of the game.
The game was not nominated in the Best Story (Story) category, which is odd anyway, because The Last of Us II was strongest in this – also for last year’s crop.
In addition, the action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima was nominated for many awards, followed by Hades with eight, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Seven, Animal Crossing: New Horizons with Five, and Half-Life: Alyx with four nominations. Well let’s take a look at the categories!

We only have to sleep until March 25th to see the 2021 BAFTA Video Player Awards winners titles. With the restrictions imposed on the coronavirus still, it will not be the live gathering as well, but the 90-minute webcast. Regardless of how The Last of Part II is shown here, it actually has won more awards than any other game to date.
