Index – Economy – Péter Szijjártó: The current global economic and political situation is shattered

Hungary will continue to strive exclusively for the promotion of national interests. Peter Szijjarto said this before Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee at its annual hearing.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade stressed that Hungary, through the consistent implementation of its foreign policy strategy, has been able to protect people’s health over the past year, quickly relaunch its economy, withstand migration pressures, and ensure energy supplies.

Referring to the nearly two-year-old coronavirus epidemic, the minister said the current global economic and political situation had collapsed and the European Union was facing serious health, economic, migration and energy problems, the Telegraph office reported.

Thanks to the additional oriental vaccinations, the minister said, they were able to reopen the economy one and a half to two months earlier than the EU average. The prime minister felt that if they abandoned the national interest, today we will not be talking about economic success, but about mass unemployment and a ruined economy. In contrast, the country recorded the largest number of employees ever this year and achieved the highest quarterly growth rate, and most investment ever started with government support.

Peter Szijjarto also noted that Hungarian exports have never been as dynamic as they were in the first nine months of 2021.

According to him, Brussels supports everything that increases immigration pressure and does not support any of those who can actually stop it.
