total impossibility. I mean, our hero, the lonely man, comes home in one of the biggest snowfalls in the history of the world, wraps himself in his solitude, and when he’s just beginning to enjoy the silence, and the sips of relaxation that belong only to him, they knock.

I mean, to be disturbed in solitude by disturbing the rhythm of his life and his days. However, our hero, Patrick, is not angry because they broke the daily flood of his average happiness, because he was somewhat choppy, trapped in a desertion. True not from the ways coming from the door. It is just like that. for years. So, it’s not exactly friendship that radiates from him when his uninvited guest turns out to be none other than the not-so-close but not-so-distant neighbour, Judith. He is also lonely. Maybe a lot. Not maybe.

Self-killing unit

Bartik and Judith are similar to the poles of a magnet. Both are fatal revelations, while if they dared to confront each other, they would only be drawn to the other. Always. It was fate that brought

Perhaps that’s why Peter Quelter, the author of the dramatic comedy, decided to put the two’s attraction and repulsion in the middle of a snowstorm. But only so that the completely different personalities of Patrick and Judith unfold before our eyes in one fierce comedy.

The Snowy is a fairly new piece, 2020. Inspired by the closed nature of the pandemic, the English author’s experience of loneliness and vulnerability makes him show a potential way out of the lives left behind in the comics. He created two heroes that could be either of us, from Paranya or from Bock. From a small town to a big city. whatever. Because the main point is that loneliness is at least as killing the soul as the desire for self-deception or self-deception or just the desire to control others.

Talking, strapping, chattering

In the role of crazy and hyperactive Judith Eszter Nagy-Kálózy, Zoltán Schneider plays the grumpy and methodical Patrick. They are perfect contrasts in their appearance. But that is exactly what only a stereotype can tell us. Unreasonable bias. Because we only think that what is strong cannot be thin, and that what is fragile certainly is not strong.

Director Áron Őze could not have found a more perfect cast for Judith and Patrick. We want to see them like this, but often, Patrick, the bearded bear, and Judith, the airy, ethereal being, are forced to see them at the beginning of the play: North and South, Right and Left, Positive and Negative are not contradictory, but the universe, the point. cohesive force.

This, of course, requires a soul first and foremost, and Quilter is a good knowledge of what can be extracted and what layers and membranes need to be removed in order to finally leave the bare essence of his character. The fallible, the lovable, and the one we can laugh at. But not because we are being mocked, but because we know exactly that we are no different. At most, we laugh differently. Not to mention that in the meantime, we can also consider whether we are able to notice, recognize, and accept ourselves in the misery and loneliness of the other.

Eszter Nagy-Kálózy balances good sense for the duality of shaping up so many emotional women and women. Judith’s play will be such that when we’re already feeling fine it’s best not to go back in the next scene, however we can’t wait to see the purity that has enabled her to fight herself even in a blizzard, and rush into Patrick’s life so anonymously that when it becomes clear why it seems So selfish, we stay too long between us. Where it hurts the most

At the start of the play, Zoltán Schneider brings Savanyú Jóska so disgustingly sullen that it is conceivable that beyond such raw, honest power, Pooh can only shiver with loneliness. This is already well known when Schneider in his role as Patrick spoke to his unexpected guest in a deathly hilarious, but all the time serious and palm-clad manner. Schneider never makes a farce about it. But after all, that’s the point of the pain: harsh and hitting where it hurts the most. See what a snowstorm can do.

Snowy’s original play is longer than we can see now. However, the Hungarian version would be strong from what we usually say less is more. It is summed up with an excellent sense of drama, but without shortening the play at all. In addition, the text contains a poem that we will have to call a spoiler here, so I will not quote it. While this will likely become one of the highlights of the piece. This is what makes viewers finally able to accept with all their heart the human meanness shown by Eszter Nagy-Kálózy and Zoltán Schneider as Judith and Patrick.

The theater section of the Rose Valley Salon is now the size of Patrick’s house in the only room in the Snowy Play. Furniture is just as elegant and stylish as it can be in any of our homes. This is important because our heroes are our reflections, our core flaws, and our strengths. Selfishness with longing, inward turning with exposure, and denial certainly mixed with this harsh backstory, and certainly all its sides are well known. That’s why we can encourage Patrick and Judith, and that’s why we’re able to believe that what we think is incompatible is probably the most perfect bond between two people.

Sometimes we just need a little help noticing it all. Snow falling, storm just an excuse. or above that.
