a Final Fantasy Sacaguchi Hironobu Studio was launched in 2004 and is the creator of the series Mystwalker They have been working exclusively on mobile games for many years, so it should come as no surprise that their next program, Fantasian It will also appear for iOS only.
However, the new work seeks to bring something new – but at least it is rarely used – in its images: every scene is created as a diorama, that is, each path is created as a model, and our characters move in it.
Given the studio’s (and Sakaguchi) past, it is not surprising that we are dealing with a JRPG with a turn-based combat system similar to Final Fantasy. However, we don’t necessarily have to defeat randomly appearing enemies right away, we can choose to send them to what is called Deminggeonbe. Going to this other dimension, we can then exterminate the beings that we have collected so far.
While Mistwalker is a studio with fewer than 20 employees, more than 150 people have worked on the dioramas, including those who made models from the Japanese Godzilla movies or the demolished Attack on Titan.
Fantasian will be released at some point during 2021 and will be available through Apple Arcade on iOS (iPhones and iPad tablets) as well as Apple TV and Macs. ■
