UNIAN news agency reports that the Delta variant has already claimed deaths in Vinnytsia Province, western Ukraine. Three of the 25 patients with this version of the virus in the county are elderly, the county governor said, two of whom are 83 and one is 73.

Most of the vaccines were given in the capital, Kiev, so far, approximately 667 thousand have received the first dose and about 395 thousand have received the second dose. It also leads the Kiev, Poltava, Cherkasy and Chernihiv provinces. The number of vaccinations is low in Transcarpathia and in the western part of the country in the Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne provinces, as well as in the Odessa province in southern Ukraine.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, since the start of the vaccination campaign in February, 4,538,443 first doses of the vaccine have been received, and 2,633,317 received the second dose in Ukraine, which has a population of about 42 million people. . On Thursday, 163,310 people were vaccinated in the country.

In Ukraine, as in previous weeks, the number of newly infected people on weekdays gradually increased, reaching 1,263 by Friday. With them, 2,263,864 infections have been recorded since the outbreak of the disease last March. The number of deaths increased by 44 to 53,217. So far, 2,195,798 people have recovered, while the number of active infections has increased by 212 to 14,849. The day before, 613 patients with suspected coronavirus were hospitalized.
