“Why I’m Hot” Rapper Mims Turned To Tech

Another celebrity has invested into the Tech industry. Rapper Mims, with the 2007 smash hit “This Why I’m Hot” is making a comeback ten years later in the tech community after winning the TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield.  The Battlefield helps startups compete and gain attention from investors that are entirely free and open to the public. Shawn Mims teamed up with DJ Blackout and Erik Mendelson to create an app called RecordGram that is a mobile recording studio.

The RecordGram app allows people to produce on a single platform and the producers maintain 100% of the copyrights to their beats created on the app. It allows artists and producers to interact and collaborate with each other by uploading their own work and networking with other musical talents.

We recently saw Rapper Chamillionaire with floor seats to the NBA Finals and many thought he was a washed up. Surprise to everyone, he actually invested his time in becoming a venturing capitalist and moving to Silicon Valley to invest in the technology business. As Chamillionaire states, he turned to the tech industry because he sees “wealthy every day.”
