In the second group, the match between Slovenia and Canada began with a surprise similar to our match against the Americans in the first group. Here, Istvan Sofron took the lead, and the Slovenians scored with a man advantage, from a puck shot in front of the goal, which, after some confusion, was shot into the net by Jan Drozeg.
Unlike us, the Slovenians maintained their advantage in the first half, but in the second half Canada was able to equalize with goals from Michael Carson and Pierre-Olivier Joseph, then turned the score around, and even advanced 3-1. End of the second period.
In the end, the Canadians won 5-2, so they now have two wins after a 6-0 win over Latvia on Friday. The Slovenians suffered two losses, as they also lost to Switzerland 7-0 in the first round on Saturday.
