With its adjustable wheelbase and variable steering angle for its wheels, the MobED, or eccentric mobile robot, Hyundai’s electric car, can maneuver just about anywhere.

For now, MobED is nothing more than a walkable platform that can even be equipped with self-driving capabilities. Hyundai isn’t bound by its size: It can be imagined as a robot that moves indoors (until it climbs upstairs) as well as an urban, suburban vehicle, a stroller that thrives on challenging terrain, or even a transportation aid for people with little mobility.

By the way, the name comes from the innovative eccentric wheel design: three electric motors per wheel on the steering, steering and ground clearance. Since all wheels can be steered and driven independently, the MobED can move, spin, spin and crawl in any direction.

The structure in its current form is 67 cm long, 60 cm wide, 33 cm high and weighs 50 kg. The wheelbase ranges from 45 to 65 cm, depending on whether stability or agility is required. The maximum speed is 30 km / h, with a 2 kW battery for 4 hours of running time.
