Honor 80 Pro's camera is confirmed to have a resolution of 160MP

Honor will hold its next big presentation on November 23, where Honor 80 models as well as other devices will be revealed. It is said that the series will consist of four smartphones, and in addition to the basic version, there will also be a Pro, Pro + and SE model. The Chinese manufacturer has now confirmed that the Honor 80 Pro will indeed have a 160MP primary camera on the back, as revealed in previous leaks.

Honor announced the news on its usual communication channel, Weibo, one of the largest Chinese social media sites With a promotional poster depicting the Honor 80 Pro with a front-facing, center-aligned dual-camera system.

The front image recorders of the Pro version have not yet been announced by an official source. According to rumors, the Honor 80 Pro + model, which is more powerful, will be equipped with a dual selfie camera, which will use two 50MP modules.

However, the Chinese text just published is not entirely clear. It claims that the Honor 80 Pro can take photos with a resolution of up to 160MP, which may also indicate that this image quality is made possible by the device using some software magic.

At the same time, if this were indeed the case, it wouldn’t be feasible to build an entire marketing campaign on such a minor feature. There used to be a great many of these things, but nowadays even fewer.

The manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the 80 Pro +, but the Weibo post indicates that several devices within the series will be equipped with a 160 MP camera, almost certainly not referring to the base model.

Speaking of the company’s basic model It was previously confirmed that the Honor 80 will be powered by the Snapdragon 782G chipset, while the Pro version will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. All members of the new series come with new software, and the devices will run what’s called MagicOS.
