“Hard rhetoric against Russia helps distract from American problems”

According to the Chinese state newspaper, the word “genocide means balustrade” with which the US president wants to distract attention from the country’s “stagnant” economy.

The Chinese State Global Times believes that this is not the first time that the United States has taken a similar approach, as China was accused of committing genocide in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region prior to the Russia-Ukrainian conflict.

They explained that Joe Biden said he was using harsh anti-Russian rhetoric to “divert attention” from the problems facing the US economy and to increase his “popular personalities and save his political life.”

That is why, according to the newspaper, he used the term “genocide” in relation to the situation in Ukraine, “throwing it gently and casually,” according to the newspaper, without any conclusive evidence, while putting a “mysterious mark” on Russia. .

The state newspaper criticized the Biden government and questioned its “incompetence and incompetence” in governing the United States, and Shen Yi, a professor at Fudan University, said the use of the term “genocide” had become the “tool” of the United States. to achieve its political goals, so he says “few people are actually taken seriously”.

According to the professor, it should be decided on the basis of facts whether Russian forces actually committed genocide in Ukraine, and not on the basis of what the United States “says”, as he writes tast.

Biden has previously said he sees the atrocities in Ukraine as genocide, adding that “we should allow lawyers to decide on this internationally,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he disagreed at all.
