The first (8-9) and second (10-11) school teams recently competed for the Grund Wrestling Student Olympic National Champion in two age groups. The Hungarian Student Sports Association (MDSZ) created luxurious conditions at the István Kuzma Wrestling Academy, where Olympic champion Tamas Lorentz also met the competitors. Nearly 1,400 students competed in the promotion qualifiers, including teams from 12 schools by age and gender to reach the National Final, where participants can compete in seven weight groups for each team.
Thanks to the victories of Sándor Petőfi Primary School in Mezőfalvi in qualifying, Kulcsi Fekete István Primary School was the runner-up in our age group and Enyingi Batthyány Fülöp High School and Primary School in the team age group from Mezőfalva, in the second age group, a team from a school can Arany János Primary in Dunaújváros participate in the fighting.
The students of Mezőfalva have set very high standards in recent years, with their competitors winning a championship title in 2019 and a silver medal in 2020. In light of this, they cut short this year’s test. Fortuna did not accept the older team of the Mezőfalva people into the draw, as they were put into a very tough group, and even if they sweated, they managed to win the group. In their first match, they defeated Miskolc Baptist School 4-3, their opponent in Orosháza 7-0, and finally Miskolc Athletic School 4-3, so they deservedly reached the triple final. South Zselic School in Szigetvár followed in fights for medals, and two more were defeated 5-2 from zero, but XX. The District Sports School, which defeated the youth of Mezőfalva 5-2, who finished the Student Olympics in second place, was revealed in the report of the DKSE wrestling division.
